Bhopal, Rajya Sabha Member Digvijaya Singh alleged on Friday that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the Taliban appear to have a “similarity of views” regarding working women.
Referring to a media report wherein RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Bhagwat was quoted as saying “Women should be housewives; men should be breadwinners,” Madhya Pradesh’s erstwhile chief minister conveyed via social media, “According to the Taliban, women are ineligible for ministers’ posts.”
In the context of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Affairs Minister Amit Shah, the Congress leader wrote, “The Modi-Shah government should now make it clear whether India will recognise the Taliban regime that has ministers who are terrorist organisations’ members on whom rewards have been announced?”
