New Delhi, EW News : In commemoration of the inaugural run of the first train in India on April 16, 1853, Railway Week is an annual celebration that takes place from April 10th to 16th. This year marks the 68th Railway Week Central Function – Ati Vishist Rail Seva Puraskar-2023, to be held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on December 15, 2023.
The highlight of this event is the prestigious Ati Vishist Rail Seva Puraskar, recognizing outstanding contributions by selected railway personnel. The awards will be presented by Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Railways, Communications & Electronics and Information Technology, adding a significant honor to the recipients for their dedicated service.During the ceremony, Shields will also be conferred upon Zonal Railways and PSU’s for their exceptional performance in specific fields. This tradition acknowledges and encourages excellence across the Indian Railways network.
Key dignitaries, including Raosaheb Patil Danve, Union Minister of State for Railways, Coal & Mines, and Darshana Jardosh, Union Minister of State for Railways & Textile, along with the Chairman & CEO and Members of Railway Board, General Managers of all Zonal Railways, Production Units of Railways, and PSUs of Railways will be in attendance, adding further prestige to the event.A total of 100 railway employees from various Zonal Railways, Production Units, and Railway PSUs across the country will receive awards for their outstanding services. Additionally, 21 Shields will be presented to recognize exceptional performances in specific categories.
