Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that effective action is being taken against the militant organizations in Jharkhand. Due to this, the presence of militants in the state has been restricted mainly to four places Parasnath Pahar, Budha Pahar, Tri Junction of Seraikela-Khunti-Chaibasa district, Kolhan area and some areas of Bihar border. Left Wing Extremism will also be wiped out from these places. There will be better coordination between the state and central government in the anti-Naxal operation. Together we will win the war against Naxalites. He said these things in a meeting on Left Wing Extremism held in Delhi on Sunday with the Chief Ministers of Naxal-affected states under the chairmanship of Home Minister Amit Shah. In this meeting, an action plan has been prepared to crack down on Naxalites.
In the meeting that lasted for about three hours, Shah said, the government is committed to the development of the Naxal-affected areas. Full development of the affected states is not possible without getting rid of the problem of Naxalism completely. Only six of the chief ministers of the ten Naxal-affected states attended the meeting. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel did not attend.
Naxalite incident hours:
In the meeting, the Chief Minister informed that in the year 2016, there were 195 militant incidents in Jharkhand. This number has come down to 125 in 2020. In 2016, 61 people were killed by militants while in 2020 the number is 28. A total of 715 militants were arrested during this period and 18 militants were killed in encounters.
