Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh’s COVID-19 death toll mounted to 280 as one more person had succumbed to the deadly virus during the past 24 hours.
The casualty was reported from Tawang district. A 75-year-old COVID positive male patient died at Military Hospital, Dahung in neighbouring West Kameng district, a senior health official said.
Meanwhile, the state registered more COVID-19 recoveries than the daily cases during the last 24 hours. Altogether 21 fresh cases were reported from across the state in the period that increased its tally of confirmed cases to 54,865.
Of the fresh detections, Pakke-Kessang found five cases and Itanagar Capital Complex three, among other districts. 13 of the total cases turned out to be asymptomatic and eight symptomatic.
On the other hand, with the recuperation of 50 persons in the period, the state’s active caseload reduced to 389 and the total number of recoveries swelled to 54,196.
The state’s COVID-19 recovery rate improved to 98.78 percent, while the case positivity and death rates stand at 0.71 percent and 0.51 percent respectively.
Lower Dibang Valley has the highest 65 active cases, followed by Lohit (56), West Kameng (53) and Tawang (47).
Arunachal Pradesh had tested 1885 samples for COVID-19 during the past 24 hours that took its cumulative figure to 11,60,347, the official added.
