Hyderabad, Heavy rains have been pounding many parts of Telangana including the state capital Hyderabad since early Monday under the influence of the Cyclonic Storm ‘Gulab’, which made landfall on Sunday evening.
Cyclone ‘Gulab’ which crossed the coast at Kalingapatnam in Andhra Pradesh is weakening and will further weaken in the coming few hours, according to the weather office.
Many low lying areas and roads were inundated and in some parts of the state, rain water entered houses inconveniencing the people following the heavy downpour.
The weather office has predicted that heavy to very heavy rains are likely in many parts of Telangana during the next 24 hours and Hyderabad too will receive very heavy rains during the next few hours following which the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has geared up to cope with any situation.
