Jharkhand Public Service Commission’s seventh to tenth Combined Civil Services Preliminary (PT) examination was concluded on Sunday. 65 to 67 percent of the candidates appeared in the examination held in two shifts. In total 1102 examination centers set up in all the districts of the state, 3 lakh 69 thousand 327 candidates were going to appear, but only about 2 lakh 47 thousand candidates could appear in the examination. The government will give its answer in the Supreme Court tomorrow on the issue of age limit regarding the examination.
Earlier the 6th JPSC Preliminary Exam was held on 18th December 2016. Its final result was released on 21 April 2020. The 7th to 10th JPSC preliminary examination for a total of 252 posts was conducted peacefully across the state. According to the candidates, the first paper was easier than the second paper. The first paper was held from 10 am to 12 noon and the second from 2 pm to 4 pm. JPSC will now release its result after evaluation of the preliminary exam. In this, about 15 times the candidates will be selected for the main examination out of the total 252 posts. Three times the successful candidates of the total number of posts in the main examination will be called for interview.
The applications for the 7th to 10th JPSC were taken in February-March 2021. In this, about five lakh candidates had applied, but due to various reasons, applications of more than one lakh candidates were canceled. Seventh to tenth JPSC preliminary exam date was released twice, but due to various reasons it had to be postponed. Initially, the exam was expected on May 2, but it was postponed due to Corona. Later on September 12, the tentative date for the conduct of the examination was announced, but due to the presence of other examinations, it was extended to September 19.
The matter is in the Supreme Court
Seventh to tenth JPSC preliminary examination was taken, but the matter of relaxation in age limit in the examination is pending in the Supreme Court. On September 21, the government has to answer in this matter. In this, the candidates have raised the issue of not giving age relaxation between VI to VII JPSC. However, after the case was rejected in the Jharkhand High Court, it has gone to the Supreme Court.
