Daltonganj, A group of elephants killed a man inside the Palamu Tiger Reserve making it the second incident this month so far.
Confirming the incident regional director of PTR Kumar Ashutosh said that the deceased Puran Singh (32) along with his relative was travelling through the forest area during which they came into the attack of the elephants in which Puran Singh died while his relative managed to flee and save his life.
He said that later police brought the body to the police station.
The officer said that as immediate compensation a sum of Rs 25,000 has been given to the kin of the deceased while the remaining Rs 3.75 lakh will be given after completion of necessary paperwork.
