Ranchi, The central government has deducted a sum of Rs 714 crore as amount of DVC dues from the account of Jharkhand, the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha said.
On the orders of the Union Power Ministry, RBI has deducted Rs 714 crore and sent it to the central account and the JMM has objected to this, said party spokesperson Vinod Pandey.
He said that the Center is continuously adopting a dual character with non-BJP ruled states. Like last year, the Center has forcibly cut money for the second time this year he said adding that Chief Minister Hemant Soren has personally spoken to the central government on this issue but despite this, the question arises about the attitude of the Center.
Pandey said that the central government is showing wrong conduct with Jharkhand regarding the dues of DVC. He said crores rupees are also left on states like Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, UP but the centre is giving them concessions while a step-motherly attitude has been shown with Jharkhand. Due to such an action of the Center, there may be a challenge in releasing the salary to the government employees in this state, which is facing serious financial crisis, he claimed.
He said that when Hemant Soren took over in 2019, he got an empty treasury. In the middle of the Corona crisis, the government is trying to move forward with limited resources. but despite this the attitude of the Center is irresponsible. The money of GST, central taxes is not being released to the state. The Center has not taken any concrete steps in this direction.
Adding further he said that there are 12 Lok Sabha MPs and 4 Rajya Sabha MPs from BJP in the state but they never talks about the state’s financial condition, step-motherly treatment with the Centre on the contrary, all the blame is put on the forehead of the state government.
