Congress ‘mastermind’ behind loot of mineral wealth in Jharkhand: Deepak Prakash

Ranchi, State BJP president Deepak Prakash has accused the Congress party of being the mastermind behind the ongoing loot of mineral wealth in Jharkhand.

Addressing a press conference here he said under the present UPA government in Jharkhand rampant loot of sand, coal and iron is taking place and the Congress party was the mastermind behind it.

He said that Jharkhand was a mineral-rich state which should be used for the development of the state and country but instead of proper utilisation its smuggling was taking place in the state.

He also pointed to the gross irregularities which were committed in the allocation of Thakurani iron ore mines in Chaibasa and claimed that the faulty allocation will also cause a loss of Rs 40 crore to the state government. He said that over the wrongdoings there was silence at the top level of the government.

Earlier in the day a delegation of the BJP led by Deepak Prakash had met Governor Draupadi Murmu at the Rajbhawan here and had handed a memorandum demanding that the allocation of the concerned iron ore mine be cancelled and had also handed over the documents pointing to irregularities committed in the allocation.
