Latehar EW News: In preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, a review meeting was convened under the chairmanship of District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Garima Singh, to ensure the provision of minimum basic facilities at cluster and polling centers.
During the review, detailed information was gathered regarding the arrangement of essential basic facilities such as drinking water, electricity, toilets, ramps, etc., at cluster and booth levels on polling day under the Accessible Minimum Facilities (AMF) scheme.
The District Election Officer emphasized the need to ensure the availability of minimum basic facilities at all polling centers. In cases where such facilities are lacking, a list should be prepared prioritizing the provision of facilities based on urgency. Additionally, the concerned departments should be provided with a list of such polling centers so that necessary action can be taken promptly.
During the meeting, information was gathered on a district-wise basis regarding the arrangement of minimum basic facilities at cluster and polling centers to accommodate polling parties and CRPF personnel. All Block Development Officers were given necessary and appropriate directions.
Furthermore, Deputy Development Commissioner Surjeet Kumar Singh, Deputy Election Officer Meri Madaki, Civil Surgeon Dr. Avadhesh Singh, District Transport Officer Surendra Kumar, Executive Engineer Electricity Supply Division Shamshad Alam, Executive Engineer Building Division Kamlesh Kumar, Executive Engineer Water Supply and Sanitation Division Deepak Kumar Mahato, District Education Officer Prince Kumar, District Education Director Kavita Khalakho, Special Function Officer Confidential Branch Shreyansh, along with all Block Development Officers, participated in the meeting via video conferencing.
