To take Action Against History Sheeters and Warrant Offenders and Submit Report

Ranchi EW News: There will be no tolerance for any kind of misconduct during the electoral process. Ensure timely progress of election preparations while strictly adhering to the directives of the Election Commission of India in any situation of doubt. Additionally, reports of the implementation of tasks at all levels should be submitted promptly. These directives were emphasized by Chief Election Officer Ravi Kumar.

Today, the Chief Election Officer and State Police Nodal Officer A.V. Homkar, along with District Election Officers, Senior Police Superintendents, Police Superintendents, and DSPs from all districts, reviewed the progress of preventive measures, legal arrangements, and the progress of voting through postal ballots related to the Lok Sabha elections 2024 via video conference from the Election Hall.

While reviewing various components of election preparedness, they instructed officials to collect weapons from individuals within their jurisdiction. They directed action against those who fail to deposit their weapons, canceling weapon permits for violators, and forming a screening committee to decide on exemption situations. They instructed to complete these actions and submit reports by April 24, 2024. Chief Election Officer – Deputy Commissioner also directed Deputy Election Officers to review 107 cases and take preventive actions. Additionally, the process of filling Form 12D for voting via postal ballots was instructed to be completed.

Furthermore, the Home Guard ASP was directed to ensure that all home guards who cannot vote at the polling station due to duty are able to vote through postal ballots. State Police Nodal Officer A.V. Homkar informed all Police Superintendents that lax behavior will not be tolerated during the elections. They instructed police officers to work diligently in their respective districts. They directed all Police Superintendents to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks by their station officers. They also instructed to take action against officials who show laxity in the execution of allocated tasks.

Present in the meeting were State Police Nodal Officer A.V. Homkar, Deputy Election Officer Sandeep Singh, Dr. Neha Aroda, Police Deputy Inspector General Dhananjay Singh, Home Guard ASP along with Deputy Commissioners and Deputy Election Officers, Senior Police Superintendents, Police Superintendents, and DSPs from all districts through video conferencing.
