Haldwani, The recent outbreak of violence in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, has shed light on a concerning lapse in intelligence gathering and preventive measures. Vadana Singh, the District Magistrate of Nainital, emphasized that the chaos witnessed was not a spontaneous event but rather a meticulously planned operation executed by miscreants. Reports indicate that these individuals were armed, using Desi revolvers to brazenly fire upon law enforcement personnel.
Speaking on the matter, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for Nainital detailed that four individuals have been apprehended in connection to the incident. However, the police force remains vigilant, actively pursuing additional suspects believed to be involved in orchestrating the violence. Efforts are underway to bring all responsible parties to justice, ensuring accountability for their actions.
The Chief minister of Uttarakhand landed with all top administrative officers in Haldwani and met with injured persons and console them.Commissioner Kumaon, known for social media reels on traffic checking and deforestation, mysteriously disappeared during the crisis.
In response to the alarming escalation of violence, the Director-General of Uttarakhand has called for stringent measures to be taken against the offenders. Urging authorities to impose the National Security Act (NSA) on those found guilty, the DG underscores the severity of the situation and the necessity for swift and decisive action. Such measures are deemed essential to deter future acts of lawlessness and uphold the safety and security of the region’s inhabitants.
