Fulfill the Set Targets Soon: MGNREGA Commissioner

Ranchi EW News: Today, MGNREGA Commissioner Ms. Rajeshwari B reviewed various schemes under MGNREGA through virtual means. She emphasized that providing successful implementation of welfare schemes is our priority. Therefore, pending schemes should be completed promptly to achieve the set targets soon.

While reviewing the Birsa Irrigation Well Scheme, the MGNREGA Commissioner gathered detailed information about the selection and approval of beneficiaries under the scheme. During this, information was provided regarding the works carried out contrary to the set targets under the Birsa Irrigation Well Scheme under MGNREGA.

In the meeting, all District Development Commissioners were directed to complete the set targets of irrigation wells on a block-wise and village-wise basis and expedite work in districts showing relatively slow progress.

The MGNREGA Commissioner stated that proper monitoring and supervision of all works are necessary. She directed all Block Development Officers and Block Development Officers under MGNREGA to continuously monitor all active sites and works being undertaken under MGNREGA. She said that making these welfare schemes successful for the benefit of the common people is our main objective. Therefore, all officials should remain actively involved.

The MGNREGA Commissioner also took information about the irrigation wells provided under MGNREGA and directed that no eligible beneficiary should be deprived of the benefits of the Birsa Irrigation Well Scheme. She instructed the Deputy Development Commissioners to prepare a list of such beneficiaries who need irrigation wells. She directed the Deputy Development Commissioners to ensure timely deposit of royalty.

The MGNREGA Commissioner took information about the “Your Plan-Your Government-Your Door” program conducted from November 24 to December 26 last year regarding applications related to MGNREGA schemes. She also inquired about executed, rejected, and pending applications. She said that pending applications should not remain pending, and efforts should be made to ensure that the reason for rejection of applications is also communicated.

Officials from all districts, including District Development Commissioners and Project Officers, were present at the review meeting.
