Ranch EW News: Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha, a meticulous inspection was carried out at the Birsa Munda Central Jail in Hotwar. The team comprised several officials, including Rajeshwar Nath Alok, the Deputy District Magistrate (Legal Affairs) of Ranchi; Sanjay Prasad, Executive Magistrate; Smriti Kumari from Hatia Residential Magistrate; Dr. Anil Kumar Khetan from Sadar Hospital, Ranchi; Arun Kumar, Supply Officer of Ranchi Block; Santosh Kumar, Supply Officer of Anagada Block; and Sajal Srivastava from the Food Safety Office. The team also included 20 sub-inspectors and 50 police personnel for assistance.
The inspection encompassed each ward and cell within the Birsa Munda Central Jail. The medical facilities for inmates were assessed, and Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha personally reviewed the healthcare provisions being provided to the prisoners. Additionally, officials in the inspection team also gathered information about the food arrangements for the inmates. Samples of both prepared and raw food materials were collected for quality assessment. The stock registers of food supplies were also cross-checked. During the inspection, statements from nearly 200 prisoners were recorded. A comprehensive inspection report will be submitted to the Jail IG at the district level regarding the findings.
