Kottayam, Baselios Marthoma Paulose II, Catholicos of the East and primate of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, passed away at Parumala St.Gregorios Hospital on Monday.He was 74.
The supreme head of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church was undergoing treatment for cancer since one-and-half years. He was on ventilator support for the last few days. He breathed his last at 0235 hrs in the wee hours this morning.
The mortal remains would be taken to Parumala church for public homage and later to Kottayam Devalokam Catholicate on Tuesday.
