Stones fall on railway tracks in Koderma, engine of Ranchi Rajdhani Express damaged.

Koderma: Big stones fell on the railway tracks early Saturday morning near Baskatwa between Koderma and Pahadpur Railway Stations on the Gomoh-Gaya rail section of the Dhanbad Division of the East Central Railway.

The Ranchi-bound Rajdhani Express was on the tracks and stones on the tracks forced the driver to apply emergency brakes preventing a major incident. However, the engine was damaged in the accident. All the passengers were safe.

Railway officials said that due to Ghat Section, the speed of the train was slow. Due to the incident, train number 02314 New Delhi-Sealdah Rajdhani Express and 03126 Gajipur City-Kolkata Express were stopped at different stations.

CPRO of Hazipur railway Rajesh Kumar said that the incident the train did not get derailed. Post the incident men were immediately rushed to the spot to clear the debris. The train traffic movement was restored on the tracks after few hours.
