NIB-CID seizes 48 kg ganja, 2 held

Chennai, Officials of the NIB-CID Coimbatore Unit have seized two kg of ganja froma vehicle at Tiruppur-Palladam Road in Tiruppur district of Tamil Nadu last evening. An official release here said acting on specific information,  a team of NIB CID officials, during vehicle check at Tiruppur –Palladam Road intercepted a Maruti Swift Dzire Car and examined it.

During examination 24 packages of tightly covered plastic sheets each weighing about two kgs were found beneath the seats and dickey. On questioning and personal test it is ascertained that ganja with a total weight of 48 kg is being transported in the vehicle from Visakapatnam.

In this connection two accused, Alex (33) of Tiruppur and Selvam (41) of Theni District were arrested.
