Palamu: Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Dilip Pratap Singh Shekhawat chaired the monthly review meeting of Palash–Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS) at the Collectorate auditorium on Friday, directing officials to accelerate livelihood activities and ensure timely achievement of targets set for the financial year 2026-27.

The meeting was attended by trainee IAS officer Ritwik Mehta, Deputy Development Commissioner Sadat Anwar, district and block-level JSLPS officials, and was conducted by the District Programme Manager (DPM).

The Deputy Commissioner reviewed compliance with directions issued during the previous monthly meeting and assessed progress against the targets and achievements for the current financial year. He reviewed the performance of various livelihood initiatives, including agriculture, animal husbandry, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), entrepreneurship development, the Phulo-Jhano Ashirwad Yojana, Deendayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY), bank linkage, strengthening of Self-Help Groups (SHGs), social inclusion, and other livelihood programmes.

DC instructed all blocks to speed up implementation in line with prescribed targets and stressed the need for innovative approaches to enhance the income of women associated with SHGs. He also emphasized the effective execution of government schemes to improve sustainable livelihoods.

The meeting also reviewed the livelihood activities being carried out at Chedabar Bazaar in Chainpur block. The Deputy Commissioner sought updates on compliance with earlier directives and instructed officials to expedite pending matters such as bank linkage, enterprise registration, and FSSAI registration.

During the meeting, four beneficiaries' dependents under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) were presented with symbolic cheques of ₹2 lakh each. The beneficiaries included Asha Kumari (wife of late Hemant Kumar Ravi), Sunita Devi (wife of late Shiban Bhuiyan), Dildar Ansari (husband of late Nabiya Bibi), and Laxman Sharma (husband of late Reena Devi). Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said ensuring timely delivery of social security benefits to eligible families remains a top priority of the district administration.

Following the review meeting, the Deputy Commissioner felicitated voluntary blood donors who had participated in a blood donation campaign organised by JSLPS. He presented them with appreciation certificates and donor cards, commending their humanitarian contribution. District Programme Manager Anita C. Kerketta, district managers, block programme managers, and other concerned officials and staff were also present during the meeting.
