COVID -ve report not mandatory for people vaccinated with both doses for entering Maharashtra

Aurangabad/Mumbai, Maharashtra State Chief Secretary Sitaram Kunte has issued a notification that, those who have been vaccinated with both covid doses will not be required to submit a negative report of RT-PCR test to enter Maharashtra.

However, it is mandatory for such persons to have an official certificate obtained from the central government's 'Cowin' portal, the notification further stated.

The decision has been taken by the chief secretary as the Chairman of the State Executive Committee of the State Disaster Management Authority as per the powers conferred under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.



The order also clarified that the discount would be applicable to domestic as well as international passengers.



Even if this exemption is applicable, all passengers who have been vaccinated or not will be required to follow proper rules including wearing face masks, washing their hands from time to time and maintaining social distance to prevent covid.

The validity of the RT-PCR test for all other citizens has been increased from 48 hours to 72 hours, the notification added.
