Paddy procurement started from farmers in Kharif season 2023-24

A total of 62.51 quintals of paddy was procured from farmers on the first day.

Sahibganj | The paddy procurement center in the Kharif marketing season 2023-24 was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate, Sahebganj Ramniwas Yadav.

In his address to the farmers present, he told that a total of 30 lamps have been identified in Sahebganj district, in which paddy will be procured from the farmers. Today, work was started at five lamps - Sakrogarh Pokharia Lamp under Bori block, West Jamnagar PACS under Rajmahal block, Shri Kund Lamp under Barharwa block, Bhognadih Lamp under Barhet block, Kathalbari Lamp under Udhwa block.

Deputy Commissioner said that a total of Rs 2300 per quintal of paddy will be paid to the farmers as minimum support price of Rs 2183 and Rs 117 as bonus.

He told the farmers to register themselves to join this scheme as soon as possible. He said that e-pass machine will be used for paddy procurement. Paddy will be purchased from farmers after biometric verification. He urged the farmers to bring clean and dry paddy to the procurement centre. He urged more and more farmers to join this scheme so that more and more farmers can get the benefits of this scheme.
