Ex Nepalese PM Bhattarai assures Delhi of rock solid friendship -Not Beijing, only New Delhi
By Ravindra Ojha @ EW News Bhattarai, who was in Delhi to participate in a programme organised by Vichar Nyas Foundation's. During the course of the meeting he pointed out that his country is going through a political crisis and it wants to bring back stability, and ensure good ties with India. "Some people in Delhi feel Nepal is completely leaning towards China, which is not the right perception. Historically, we have been closer to India. China is also our friend but we don't interact with them that much because they lie on the other side of the Himalayas," said former Nepal PM. Bhattarai was of the opinion that India and Nepal are like two brothers, who have blood relation bond of mutual love and passion. Addressing the vichar Nyas Foundation's events, he recalled the contribution of eminent parliamentarian DP Tripathi in Nepal's democratic struggle and hailed the departed leader as as the backbone of Indo-Nepal friendship. Veteran BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, Kanhaiya Kumar, senior BJP leader Utpal Rai, Deepak Rai, Naresh Grover, Kanishka Tripathi and jitendra Tiwari Munna attended the programme.
