Ranchi, State BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash on Monday said that on payment of dues to the farmers for selling their paddy is unfortunate. He said in the month of November 2020 the state government had started paddy procurement from the farmers but after a week due to the orders of Minister Rameshwar Oraon the procurement was stopped due to which farmers had to face lots of problems.

Prakash said due to the negligence of the state government either the paddy of the farmers got rotten or they were forced to sell of their produce to the middlemen on throw away prices. He said that new season of paddy sowing is set to commence in a week but the farmers are waiting for the payment of previous year.

Prakash said that BJP is standing with the farmers and across the state dharna will be staged to highlight the plight of the farmers. He said that Mahagathbandhan had promised loan wavier worth Rs 2 lakh for farmers alongwith free power but all these promises have now been set aside.
