New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the entire nation is grateful to the doctors for their relentless service during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Addressing the nation in his monthly radio programme “Mann Ki Baat’ he said that on coming July1, we will be celebrating National Doctors Day and this year it is dedicated to the great physician and statesman Dr BC Roy.
“ We all are grateful to the immense contribution of doctors who have been serving us, regardless of their lives and that is why this year, this National Doctors Day becomes more significant, he added.
Mr Modi further said that many people have come forward to assist these doctors who are working relentlessly during this pandemic.
“At Dal Lake, a Boat Ambulance Service was started. This service was started by Tariq Ahmad Patloo ji of Srinagar, who is also a Houseboat owner. He himself has also fought the battle with COVID-19 and this inspired him to start the Ambulance Service”, the Prime Minister added.
He said that Mr Patloo ji has been continuing his efforts to make people aware of this deadly disease and by his regular announcements from the boat ambulance to wear face masks and follow Covid protocols.
