Unseasonal Rain across many dist. in Jharkhand drops down temperature. Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro and Dhanbad, experienced unseasonal rains accompanied by thunder. It was due to western disturbances, says Meteorological department.

The western disturbance passing through North India triggered a cyclonic circulation over north Konkan, existing between 1.5km and 2.1 km above mean sea level. A trough was also running from the cyclonic circulation over north Konkan to Jharkhand at 1.5 km above mean sea level.

Several places in Garhwa, Latehar and several districts in north western parts of Jharkhand recorded light to moderate rain since last evening.

The rains continued today too. Hazaribagh, Khunti, Ramgarh Ranchi, Giridih, Lohardaga, Seraikela- Kharsawan and West Singhbhum experienced light to moderate rain on Tuesday.

IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre also issued an alert of fog and mist for the next three to four days.

The cloud cover and rain resulted in an abrupt rise in minimum readings across the state.
