TN prepared to face third wave of COVID : Minister

Chennai, Tamil Nadu Health Minister Ma Subramanian today informed the State Assembly that the state government is fully prepared to face if there is a break out of third wave of COVID pandemic.

Replying to former Health Minister Dr C Vijayabaskar (AIADMK) during the debate on the motion of thanks to the Governor for his address, he said ‘we hope that there should not be any third wave of COVID’.
Even if a third wave of pandemic emerge, the state government is fully prepared to face it and all precautionary measures have been put in place.

Stating that Chief Minister M K Stalin has been constantly reviewing the COVID situation in the State, he said 79,218 new beds have been created in the last few days and all steps are being taken, including strengthening the medical infrastructure.

Recalling the steps taken by Mr Stalin ever since the DMK government assumed office on May seven to control the COVID pandemic and accelerating the vaccination process, he said when the government took over the daily case load was 26,465 and in the next few days it went up to 36,184.

Thanks to the sustained efforts taken by the Chief Minister, the daily case load has come down to 7,000 yesterday.
‘In the next few days, the COVID cases will come to an end’, Mr Subramanian said.
