Rohtas: A strange case of theft has come to light in Rohtas district of Bihar. Thieves posing as government officials cut off the old iron shabby bridge in broad daylight built on the Ara Canal under the Nasriganj police station area. The thieves had arrived with bulldozers, gas cutters and vehicles posing as departmental officers. After chopping the bridge in 3 days, they filled the vehicles and fled away. The surprising thing is that thieves pretended to be officer of the state Irrigation Department and took help of local departmental personnel.
This bridge, built in 1972, was in a very dilapidated condition. in view of which the villagers stopped using it and also applied to the administration to remove the bridge. After which the administration got the concrete bridge constructed in parallel for the use of the villagers.
