Palamu: Jharkhand Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar held a meeting with the Electoral Registration Officers, BLO, and BLO Supervisor in the Collectorate Auditorium regarding the brief revision program containing the photo voter list. In the meeting, he said that there should not be any negligence in the work of the special short revision program containing the photo voter list. He gave clear instructions that the Electoral Registration Officer should take action against the BLO and BLO Supervisor who are negligent in the work related to the election work. He said that the work of purification of the voter list has to be done by 30. Therefore, work in this with full diligence and readiness, so that not a single voter’s name is left out from being included in the voter list. He said that the claim and objection forms received during the special brief revision program of the photo voter list should be ensured to be entered through Garuda App. BLO and BLO supervisors should ensure to register the names of eligible citizens of their polling stations in the voter list.
He laid special emphasis on adding the names of newly married women to the voter list. He said that newly married women come to the in-law’s house after marriage. During this, there is confusion among people regarding the address proof to add their name to the voter list, but there is nothing to be confused about it. Necessary action should be taken to add the name of the newly married woman to the voter list by giving the address proof of the husband.
He said that the Voter Helpline is a very convenient one, in which any person can submit his claim objection forms 6, 7, 8, and 8A online. One can also dial on toll-free number 1950 for any kind of help and information like registering a name in the voter list or making any corrections. In this meeting all the officers including Deputy Officer Shailesh Kumar Singh were present.
