Ranchi: Former Jharkhand mining secretary IAS Pooja Singhal has got a new identity. She will now be known as Prisoner No. 1187 in Hotwar Jail. After five days of remand, she was presented in the special court of ED, from where she court has sent him to jail in judicial custody. Due to the continuation of the case, she may have been kept captive, but except management member in the jail, everyone is considered a prisoner.

Pooja Singhal is a 2000 batch IAS officer. She started his career with the posting of SDO in Hazaribagh. Later she was posted as DC of Chatra, Khunti, Palamu district. She married Abhisshek Jha after sher divorce from her first husband, Rahul Purwar. Abhishek Jha is the owner of the investigation house and hospital named Pulse located in Ranchi. In the government, Pooja Singhal worked in other positions including Agriculture Secretary. Before her arrest, she was posted as Mining Secretary. The ED has arrested and sent her to jail for allegedly committing corruption in MGNREGA while holding the post of DC in Khunti, Chatra and Palamu districts. Earlier, ED officers questioned Pooja Singhal for 14 days.

During raids on the premises of Pooja Singhal, her husband Abhishek Jha and chartered accountant Suman Kumar, the ED got more than Rs 19 crore in cash. Apart from this, the matter of getting documents related to the mining mafia has also come to the fore. After interrogating her for two consecutive days, tshe ED produced her in tshe court on Wednesday. From where she has been sent to ranchi based Hotwar jail.

The ED’s investigation in the suspended IAS Pooja Singhal case is continuing. On Tuesday also, tshe ED raided the premises of Vishal Chaudhary, Anil Jha and Nishit Kesari in Ranchi. Vishal Chaudhary was taken into custody by the ED, but he was released after interrogation. At the same time, in the course of raids, Rs 5 crore was also recovered from Vishal’s residence located at Ashok Nagar Road No. The ED had to use two machines to count recovered amount.
