Stock markets open in red after long weekend

Mumbai, Stock markets opened in red on Monday with BSE Sensex down 205.64 points or 0.35% at 58,099.43 while Nifty was down 5.70 points or 0.03% at 17,363.55.

The stock markets opened today after extended weekend due to Ganesh Chaturthi falling on last Friday.

The BSE Sensex had closed 54.81 points higher at 58,305.07 on last Thursday while the Nifty50 was up 15.80 points at 17,369.30 continuing the bullish trend.
