Pakistan adds 3,480 new COVID-19 cases, 82 more deaths

Islamabad, Pakistan on Friday added 3,480 new COVID-19 cases and 82 more deaths in its overall tallies, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) said.

The NCOC, the country’s department leading the campaign against the pandemic, said that the country’s number of overall confirmed cases had risen to 1,201,367, including 1,082,988 recoveries.

The number of active cases has increased to 91,717 who are under treatment across the country, including 5,373 in critical conditions.

According to the NCOC, the pandemic killed 82 people on Friday, increasing the total death toll to 26,662.

Pakistan’s southern Sindh province is the most affected region of the country in terms of the number of cases with 443,521 infections followed by the eastern Punjab province which has reported 411,808 cases so far.
