Ranchi, Union Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi on Wednesday said that the new education policy will help to reduce the dropout rate in the country.
Addressing her first press conference at the state BJP headquarters after being inducted into the Union Cabinet she said that the new education policy is a reflection of the thoughts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
She said that under the new education policy there is a focus on educating the children in regional languages while vocational education will commence from class six onwards which will help students bagging jobs early.
She said that recently many schemes were also launched by the department including engineering education in 11 regional languages which will be of great benefit to the students. The Union Minister pointed that since education is a matter of Concurrent list therefore she will also ensure better coordination between the centre and the state.
Annapurna Devi said that apart from working for the betterment of education sector in Jharkhand she will ensure that all the schemes of the education department are implemented in the state.
She said that her department is not imposing policies on the states but has devised a platform where the states can give their suggestions which will be then put before the expert committee which will take a call to incorporate them or not.
She also expressed her gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other central leaders of the party for including the daughter of Jharkhand coming from a normal family into the Union cabinet. She said that it is for the first time after Independence that 11 women ministers have been inducted into the cabinet.
The Union Minister who is also undertaking a Jan Aashirwad Yatra in the state from August 16 to 19 said that she had been overwhelmed by the love being shown by people hailing from all communities and sections of the society including youngster and women which according to her was their love for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his works.
