Ranchi: JMM candidate Mahua Manjhi filed her nomination on Tuesday for the Rajya Sabha elections to be held on two seats in the state. She filed his nomination in three sets. On this occasion, a crowd of JMM workers reached the assembly premises with them. Hundreds of workers including Chief Minister Hemant Soren, all ministers of JMM quota, MLAs were present on the occasion. At the same time, the leaders of the Congress, a key ally of the Hemant government, kept a distance. While the RJD with one MLA appeared with the Hemant Soren government during the process of filing nomination.

Reaching the assembly to file nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections, JMM candidate Mahua Maji said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren has increased the honour of women by giving her a Rajya Sabha ticket. Till now no party in Jharkhand has done the work of giving ticket to the woman for Rajya Sabha. Party’s General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya, who was present on the occasion, said that he was saying from day one that the party would give candidates in the Rajya Sabha elections. On the displeasure of the Congress, he said that there is no resentment.

At present, the ruling JMM has 30 MLAs in the assembly. The main opposition BJP has a total of 26 MLAs. AJSU supremo Sudesh Mahto has become the proposer in the nomination of BJP candidate Aditya Sahu. In such a situation, BJP seems to be getting the support of 2 MLAs of AJSU. In such a situation, one candidate each from the ruling JMM and the opposition will be elected in the Rajya Sabha.
