Ranchi: Jharkhand government has ordered a judicial commission to investigate the irregularities in the construction of the new assembly building and The new High Court building under construction. Earlier, on July 2 last year Chief Minister Hemant Soren had directed the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) to investigate financial irregularities committed during the construction these buildings. Both these buildings, built during the tenure of Raghuvar Das led BJP government, have been in discussion since the allotment of tender process. After the construction of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, the issue of fire accident, ceiling collapse and increase in the estimate amount has been in the discussion in the political circles.

The construction cost of the new building of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly was reduced from Rs 465 crores to Rs 323.03 crores initially. Later, citing Vastu defects, the area was changed and again this work was given to Ramkripal Singh Construction Company. In this way the total construction amount increased by Rs 136 crore. Even after spending crores, questions have been raised many times regarding its strength and poor construction.

Similarly, in the construction of new building of Jharkhand High Court, the initial estimate amount was Rs 265 crore. But as the work progressed, the amount also kept on increasing. 697 crores were spent in the construction of this new building of the High Court. Permission was not even taken for increasing the amount in the construction of the building.
