Patna: SSP Manavjit Singh Dhillon difficulties seem to be increasing in the contempt of court case. The Patna High Court has fixed May 12 as the date for the next hearing in the dismissal case of female constable. A single bench of Justice PC Bajanthari has ordered SSP Manavjit Singh Dhillon to appear in front the state level apex judicial authority. This order has been given in the court in the case of dismissal of a female constable named Gauri Rani.
According to the information, after the death of a female constable in Patna’s Police Lines on November, 2018, some female constables ransacked the premises. Many women constables were dismissed after this incident. however some of them, including constable Gauri Rani, had approached the High Court challenging the dismissal. Apoorva Harsh, Manu Murari and Prashant Bhardwaj, the counsel for the female constable, told that on December 18, 2021, the court had ordered to cancel their dismissal. Along with this, an order was also given to pay the arrears of salary within two months.
In the earlier hearing in this case, the court had clearly said that if the outstanding salary is not paid to the female constable, then the SSP will have to appear in the court during the hearing on Tuesday. However the SSP didnot reach the court, on which the court expressed its displeasure. On behalf of the state, the public prosecutor said during the hearing that the process of releasing the outstanding salary has been done, soon the female constable will get it. But the High Court said that the SSP of Patna will still have to appear in the next hearing to be held on May 12.
