Ranchi: On behalf of the Central Investigation Agency, Abhay Kumar Singh, General Manager of Rail India Technical and Economic Service Limited (Rites), DGM Rajiv Ranjan and Avtar Singh of Hardev Construction were arrested and produced in the court. An FIR has also been registered in the special court of CBI and ACB on this matter. The court has allowed all those arrested to be taken on remand for three days. Now from 6 o’clock in the evening on Friday, the CBI will take these three into its custody.

Rail India Technical and Economic Service Limited (RITES) officials had demanded Rs 10 lakh on behalf of Avtar Singh of Hardev Construction Private Limited and Shashi, son of Umesh Mehta, there has been a serious allegation of managing the tender. There was talk of giving a work to HCPL Deoghar and Mehrotra Buildcon Private Limited Satna in Patratu Ranchi. In this, GM Projects Abhay Kumar, DGM Rajiv Ranjan, HCPL’s Avtar Singh and Shashi have been accused of managing the work. The GM and DGM from Hardev Construction many times demanded money in the name of giving work. On 19 April 2022, Rajiv Ranjan demanded five lakh rupees from Shashi.

It has been written on the CBI FIR that Shashi has also taken permission from the owner of Hardev Construction to pay Rs 5 lakh. 28 lakhs was paid on behalf of Shashi from the GM of Rights. After this, the general manager was paid five lakhs. Deputy General Manager Rajiv Ranjan again asked for Rs 5 lakh out of the outstanding of Rs 10 lakh.
