New Delhi: Enforcement Directorate has arrested Delhi Health Minister and AAP leader Satyendra Jain in an eight-year-old money laundering case. Satyendra Jain has earlier been questioned by ED in this case. It is being told that this action has been taken by the ED in the case of money laundering of Rs 4 crore 81 lakh. It is alleged that in the year 2014-15, when Satyendra Jain was in the post of minister, he and his associates got money from Kolkata based shell companies. According to sources, when Satyendra Jain was questioned in this regard, the minister was not able to answer satisfactorily. After which the ED arrested him.

After the arrest of Satyendra Jain, opinions have started to pour in from the political corridors of Delhi. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has tweeted that this arrest has been done in a fake case. Sisodia said that in the middle of many years the ED stopped calling him in this fake case and now that he has been made the party in-charge of Himachal, then BJP has started adopting tactics again.

However, along with the party, many leaders of the opposition are also expressing their reaction on this arrest. Kumar Vishwas tweeted and wrote, ‘When this case came for the first time, I had asked Satyendra Jain to answer in the filled PAC. He made her wife sit in front of me to weep and wash. I aksed him to keep personal relation aside and answer the question.”

Apart from this, Congress spokesperson Alka Lamba has demanded the immediate removal of Satyendra Jain from the post of Health Minister. He also said that Satyendra Jain should be sacked from the party. He said that this is the fight of the party. If after investigation Jain gets a clean chit, then he should be brought back to the post.
