Dhankhar takes a dig at Mamata Govt

Kolkata, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Monday termed as ‘misconceived’ the stance of the Mamata Banerjee Government regarding the constitutional power of the Governor.

Taking to his twitter handle, Mr Dhankhar said, ‘ Stance @MamataOfficial regards constitutional powers of Governor is misconceived. Constitution mandates Governor to “preserve, protect and defend the Constitution and the law”-essence of democracy. Governor obliged to contain all transgressions imperiling democracy in the state. ‘

‘ Chief Secretary @MamataOfficial is CS to the government of a state and not CS to CM, much less a chief political secretary to CM. Civil servants have to abide rulebook alone. How can bureaucrats

@IASassociation recklessly violate Conduct Rules & Constitutional Rules of Business! ‘ he added.

‘ Time for CS and bureaucracy @MamataOfficial to end defiant mode and follow law. Their transgressions have proliferated rampant corruption and resulted in “governance not in accordance with Constitution”. CS must comply directives by way of written response to issues flagged, ‘ he iterated.
