EW Correspondent Palamu: Commissioner Bal Kishun Munda conducted a surprise inspection of the Government Residential Primary School for Scheduled Caste Girls located in Nilamber-Pitamberpur and Lesliganj. The inspection covered classrooms, hostels, dining areas, kitchens, toilets, drinking water facilities, and overall security arrangements. During his visit, the Commissioner interacted with students, inquiring about their meals, study materials, stationery, and the availability of school kits. He assessed the quality of education by reviewing their books and notebooks and encouraged students to focus on their studies to achieve success. Teachers were instructed to adopt creative and practical teaching methods. The Commissioner also inspected the food storage, bedding, and overall living conditions in the hostel. He expressed displeasure over issues like waste material stored in hostel rooms,
uncovered pillows, dirty and torn bedding, garbage at the school entrance, and improper vehicle parking that blocked the main gate. He directed immediate measures to ensure cleanliness in the school premises, including regular cleaning of toilets and maintaining proper sanitation. Additionally, he emphasized providing safe drinking water, nutritious meals, and ensuring that students sleep under mosquito nets. Out of 99 enrolled students, only 76 were present during the inspection. Teachers cited prolonged holidays as the reason for absentees. The Commissioner instructed them to contact the parents of absent students to ensure their return. Accompanying the Commissioner was his Secretary-cum-Deputy Director of Welfare, Bijay Verma, who participated in the review of the school’s facilities. The Commissioner stressed that no student should face any difficulties and urged prompt action to address the shortcomings.
