Ranchi: The deadline date to reply to the notice sent to CM Hemant Soren under Section 9A of the Representation of People Act has been is May 10. However, the CM may ask for more time to respond to this notice. The CM’s full attention is now focused in Hyderabad where his mother is under treatment.
Sources close to the CM say that preparations are on to take time from the Election Commission. For this a time petition can be filed before the commission. CM Soren will take time by sending a time petition through his lawyer. On the other hand, preparations are also going on to answer. Here all eyes are on the Election Commission, what is the decision of the Commission.
The opinion of legal experts is being taken by JMM in this matter. It is being told that the party has got the case study done from 1956 to 2006 and again in 2020. The documents of all these orders have been collected. In response, the reference of all these orders will be given. The party believes that mining lease does not come under 9(a). The reason is that the stone mines were surrendered in February itself. There has never been any excavation from the Anagada mine, so how is the matter of profit made in it. This mine is also mentioned in the affidavit given by Hemant Soren to the Election Commission. Since this mine was already in the name of Hemant Soren.
