Ranchi: After a long political tussle between the constituent parties of the ruling side for fielding candidate in Rajya Sabha election, both the parties are engaged in doing damage control. After filing nomination of candidate Mahua Manjhi in the Rajya Sabha elections, CM Hemant Soren has clarified that Rajya Sabha elections and participation in the government are two different things. On the other hand, Jharkhand Congress in-charge Avinash Pandey said that there is no resentment among the Congress MLAs towards the government. Along with this, Jharkhand Congress in-charge Avinash Pandey reached the Chief Minister’s residence late in the evening to meet him.

Amidst the displeasure of Congress MLAs after the JMM fielded the candidate, in-charge Avinash Pandey held a one-to-one meeting with everyone at the party headquarters. After the meeting, the Chief Minister categorically rejected the matter of displeasure of the MLAs and said that this meeting was called today especially to reinforce the between the organization. On the question of not fielding a candidate in the Rajya Sabha elections, Pandey said, Congress did not have its own numbers. Because of this the party did not field a candidate in the election. Whereas due to sufficient numbers, JMM has made Mahua Maji its candidate.
