Ranchi: BJP has declared Aditya Sahu as its candidate from Jharkhand for Rajya Sabha Election. The party high command has issued notification stikring out Raghuvar Das and replacing him by Aditya Sahu.
Voting for two seats is to be held on 10th June. At the same time, the last date for nomination of candidates is 31 May. Bandhu Tirkey lost his membership after being found guilty in the disproportionate assets case. In such a situation, at present there is a total of 80 MLAs in the state. That is why the candidate who got 26.67 votes in the present state assembly is considered to be going to the Rajya Sabha.
At present, the ruling JMM has 30 MLAs. On the other hand, Congress has 17 MLAs and RJD has 1 MLA. The main opposition BJP has a total of 26 MLAs. In such a situation, one candidate each from the ruling coalition and the opposition will be elected in the Rajya Sabha. With one of its MLAs currently undergoing treatment in Hyderabad, the BJP will need the support of two MLAs from other party. Thus party is looking forward to the Democratic Front for its support.
