Ramgarh: The Ministry of Defense has directed action to make the restricted area of Ramgarh Cantt area free from restrictions. On the orders of Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, the Ministry of Defense has started the process. There is a total of 500 acres of land and about 2000 houses in this area. In 1941, construction related activities were banned in the area of Ramgarh Cantonment Board. Meaning that after 81 years, the people here will be free from restrictions.
The resident of this portion of land did not get any government facility since the ban in 1941. Due to this the people living in the area were not getting basic facilities. No facilities of drain, PCC road, street light, cleanliness, water connection. However this will all be available to the people after the ban is lifted. They will also be able to get the house map passed. Welfare schemes of the central and state governments will be implemented in this area. At present, railway stations, schools, colleges, many government departments, new bus stands, vegetable markets have been built in the Cantt area.
The Defense Minister’s letter states that under Section 181(2) of the Cantonment Act 1924, the GOC-in-Chief of the Eastern Command had imposed a ban on construction activities in some areas of Ramgarh on April 21, 1941. Now the process of lifting the ban is being done.
