The Union Health Ministry said that Maharashtra had the highest number of 510 cases followed by Delhi 351, Kerala 156, Gujarat 136, Tamil Nadu 121 and Rajasthan 120.
So far, 1700 cases of ‘Omicron’, a new form of corona virus, have been reported in India, out of which 639 people have become infection free or have migrated to other places. These cases were reported in 23 states and union territories. The Union Health Ministry has given information in this regard on Monday.
At the same time, the number of patients under treatment increased to 1,45,582, which is 0.42 percent of the total cases of infection. An increase of 22,781 has been registered in the number of patients under treatment for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. According to the data, the national rate of recovery of patients is 98.20 percent. The daily rate of infection was 3.84 percent and the weekly rate was 1.68 percent. So far, a total of 3,42,95,407 people have become infection free in the country and the death rate from Covid-19 is 1.38 percent.
So far, more than 145.68 crore doses of anti-Covid-19 vaccine have been given under the nationwide vaccination campaign. Last year on August 7 the number of infected in the country had exceeded 20 lakhs, on August 23, 30 lakhs and on September 5, more than 40 lakhs. At the same time, the total cases of infection had crossed 50 lakh on 16 September, 60 lakh on 28 September, 70 lakh on 11 October, 80 lakh on 29 October and 90 lakh on 20 November.
The Health Ministry said that out of those who have died due to corona virus infection so far, more than 70 percent of the patients also had other diseases. The ministry said on its website that its data is being matched with the data of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
